face down(面朝下)合乎情理。

44. D "the men were their neighbors"是一种非常特别的情况,故用尤其是(especially)。

Maricel fell to the ground and lost consciousness."和后面的"she saw a lot of blood"可知此处应用woke up(醒过来)暗示小女孩受到袭击后晕了过去,"醒过来"后发现有很多血。

47. D 由语境"She also saw the feet of the men around her"可以推测小女孩为了活命装死(dead)。

Maricel’s family also didn’t have p50,000 for their hospital bills"可以断定小女孩家很穷(poor)。

53. C 由下文"They were sentenced to prison."

Yes, a chef without hands." 下文中的using her wrists也是暗示。

58. A Hotel and Restaurant Management是酒店和餐厅管理,是一种培训课程,故用course。

60. A 由后面的暗示a chef without hands可知,小女孩最后成了一名厨师(cook)。

下文"he said that until now, there was little research on this."(直到现在,关于这一点的调查几乎没有)和上文是转折关系,故用but。

这里是减少食物和饮料的量,用their代替food or drink,形容词性物主代词their修饰size。

Last year, I received a student Felix from London. On the first day, I went to pick up at the airport and we chatted along the way. To help him know about Chinese culture, I many activities. For an example, we paid a visit to the famous Maoer Hutong, where we had an tour. I also took him to watch Beijing Opera. Although he could understand few , he was still surprised to see the colorful costumes the unique way of performing. When it was time for him to returnLondon, I sent him some Chinese gifts. He was very grateful what I had done.

第二处:her →him。

第八处:or →and。

return to意为"回到……",London不是副词,to不能省略,因此应该在return后加to。

第十处:to →for。be grateful to sb. for sth.

Dear Classmates,

The other day, one of our classmates was knocked down by a car at the crossing. It is not the car driver but the student himself who is to blame due to the fact that he ran through the red light.

Records show that an increasing number of people die in traffic accidents every year, most of whom walk regardless of speed limits, talk and laugh while riding bikes and cross the road without noticing the traffic lights. This will not only do harm to their own lives but also put other people in danger.

So many people violate traffic regulations that we should attach great importance to traffic safety. Only when everybody is aware of the problem can we be safe on roads.

Yours truly,

Li Lei

M:What happened?

W:I stopped doing it and started working for a living.

M:We can get caught up in living an ordinary life. I, at least, want to have some pleasure while I’m still young. Old age comes very fast.

W:Life is like a movie sometimes. You think that only a month has passed but really it has been a year. One year turns into ten years.

M:Ten years turn into a lifetime. What’s wrong with a little enjoyment?

W:Nothing. Kids know how to take full advantage of life.

M:When I am getting old, I have to remind myself to stop and smell the roses. I just can’t work 15 hours a day and be happy about it. Money is only money. When I die, I can’t take it with me.

W:You can give it to your kids.

M:They won’t appreciate money unless they earn it like I earn it.

W:I guess I can understand.

M:The real joy in life is enjoying your present life. Seize the moment.

Text 10

As the car industry develops, traffic accidents have become as familiar as the common cold. Yet, their causes and control remain a serious problem that is difficult to solve. Experts have long recognized that this discouraging problem has various causes. At the very least, it is a problem that involves three factors: the driver, the vehicle, and the roadway. If all drivers exercise good judgment at all times, there would be fewer accidents. But that is rather like saying that if all people were honest, there would be no crime. Improved design has helped make highways much safer. But the type of accidents continued to rise because of human failure and a large increase in the numbers of automobiles on the road. Attention is now turning increasingly to the third factor of the accident, the car itself. Since people believe the accidents are bound to occur, they want to know how cars can be built better to protect the drivers.
