参考范文:
Dear Jason,
I’m Li Hua. I’m writing to ask you to do me a favor. It’s about an English speech contest with the title An Unforgettable Experience in High School, which I’m going to take part in this Saturday. I’vefinished my draft, but I find it still far from satisfactory.
I’m not sure of the usage of some words. There may also be some mistakes in grammar and sentence structures. Would you be so kind to spare some time to checkthem out and improve my article? If it’s convenient to you, please send it back by Thursday afternoon.
I’d appreciate it if you could give me your guidance. Looking forward to your reply. (113 words)
Yours,
Li Hua

听力原文:
(Text 1)
W: Hello. I’d like to reserve a table for tonight at eight o’clock.
M: Certainly ma’am. And for how many people? The largest table left seats six.
W: Oh, right. A party of five.
(Text 2)
M: Well, I have studied computer programming for four years in college.
W: But I don’t seem to see any background in terms of work on your application.
M: But I’m confident I can do the job well.
(Text 3)
W: pass me the potatoes again, please. Oh, let me have some more chicken.
M: Don’t you think you’re eating too much?
W: I promise, I’ll just eat a little more.
(Text 4)
M: Our basketball team is playing in the finals in the stadium this Sunday but I don’t have a ticket. I guess I’ll just watch it on TV.
W: Actually I have a ticket. But I’m not feeling well. You can have it.
M: That’s very nice of you.
(Text 5)
W: It seems Jackie still hasn’t received the plan.
M: Really? I sent it to him last week.
W: Anyway, I will bring it to him in person today. Would you call him to let him know I’ll be coming by?
M: OK.
(Text 6)
M: Are you ready to go? We need to leave soon.
W: Not yet. I’m looking for my red shoes.
M: The ones I bought for you last week?
W: Yes, I want to wear them to the movies tonight.
M: I think they should be in the bedroom.
W: I just looked in there and I didn’t see them.
M: Did you look under the sofa?
W: No, why would they be under the sofa?
M: The cat likes them more than you do. And he likes to take things there.
(Text 7)
M: Would you like to have lunch with me today, Maria? I’m going to try the new Greek place that just opened downtown.
W: You’re talking about Green Star, the one across from City Hall? I went there with some friends yesterday. It isn’t as enjoyable as it is advertised. It’s a bit noisy and I couldn’t feel relaxed. I wrote a review last night on the Internet about it.
M: Oh. I never pay attention to reviews on the Internet or in the paper. Anyway, now I’m still going to try it myself.
(Text 8)
W: Have you finished your project?
M: Well, actually, I am running a little behind. It’s 40% done.
W: What’s the problem?
M: I never talk to my co-workers when I have problems. They are always too busy to help a new staff member like me.
W: Have you ever helped other people when they are in trouble?
M: Well, nobody ever asks me for help.
W: I think you should communicate with them more. A team makes things better, you know.
M: I see your point, but…
W: Come on! Just pay more attention to your co-workers. I am speaking from experience.
M: Thank you so much. I will try.
W: If you have any other problems with your work, let me know.
M: Thanks very much. I promise I will work harder.
(Text 9)
W: Good evening and welcome to tonight’s edition of Legendary Lives. Our subject this evening is James Dean. Edward Murray is the author of a new biography of Dean. So Edward, tell us what you know about Dean’s early life.
M: He was born in Indiana in 1931, but his parents moved to California when he was five. He wasn’t there long though because his mother passed away just four years later. Dean’s father sent him back to Indiana after that to live with his aunt.
W: So how did he get into acting?
M: Well, first he acted in plays at high school, then he went to college in California where he got into acting officially. In 1951 he moved to New York to do more stage acting.
W: Then when did he start movies?
M: In 1955. His first starring role was in East of Eden. The movie that really made him famous was Rebel Without a Cause. That was about teenagers who felt like they didn’t fit into society. Dean died in a car crash in California.
(Text 10)
M: Welcome to Haybridge Hall. I’d like to introduce the general history of the house to you.
Haybridge Hall was constructed at the end of the 15th century and was originally called Hawken Hall after the first family who owned it. The Hawken family sold it and the name Haybridge was used by the family who bought it. The Yardley family owned Haybridge for some 200 years and turned the surrounding area into farmland. The Yardley family left Haybridge in 1722 and the place was left empty for about sixty years.
The famous local author William Hoaten bought Haybridge in 1784. The Hoaten family stayed at Haybridge until the beginning of the Second World War when the British Army took it over. After the war, the Hoaten family decided it would be too costly to move back into Haybridge Hall and so Haybridge came to be owned by English Heritage. English Heritage made a big repair operation in the 1970’s.Haybridge Hall remains to this day one of the finest examples of British architecture and the furnishing within gives a good idea of what country life was like three to four centuries ago in this country.
That’s all from me. Now you can walk around Haybridge Hall.
